But how do you do that and where do you start? With the arrival of Ronald and Mike, Timelock got back the new impulse it needed. The songs got more drive and an even more symphonic sound. Especially Ronald s input and unique guitar sound played an important part in this. Mike proved (yet again) to be an inspiration. Mike and Bert form the tandem that creates a firm basis for the songs. <br /><br /> We took up some unfinished songs from the time of Circle or Deception, evaluated them and developed some of them. As if touched by magic, the songs sounded more melodic and symphonic. We discovered that this was the way to go. This magnificent music inspired me to write lyrics I never believed possible. <br /><br /> "Afterlife (Philo Says)" is definitely one of my favourites. Ronald and Julian came up with the framework. It starts as a ballad, but halfway through it changes into a real epic. The lyrics are about Philo of Larissa, a Greek philosopher who lived around 160 BC. In his stories he describes the construction of enormous buildings. Inspired by this, the song is dedicated to people far away from home, who manufactured enormous constructions without ever seeing the end result, because they died of exhaustion.<br /><br /> Another song of the album worth mentioning is "Species Of One". The inspiration for these lyrics came from the popular science fiction series "V". The big question presented in this song is; are we really who we claim to be? Can you still trust your friends if potentially they host extraterrestrial beings?<br /><br /> All in all there are nine songs on "Buildings". I hope you have become curious about our new CD. We would like to thank the fans for the numerous e-mails we received asking us to make another album.
